Parajumpers was born from a chance encounter in Alaska
Considered a sportswear guru, Massimo Rossetti is a great Italian stylist, specializing in importing major American brands. But for the creation of Parajumpers, he teamed up with Ape & Partners in Seguisino, a family management company. And the little story of the brand was inspired by the 210th Rescue Squadron.
Massimo got the idea for Parajumpers when he met a member of this rescue squadron quite by chance in a small bar in Anchorage. Alaska is home to several American military bases, including the Eilson Air Force base, which is located precisely in the south of Fairbanks. And the famous 210th Rescue Squadron is one of them.
It was by learning a little more about the work of this extreme squadron that Massimo Rossetti had the idea of creating Parajumpers, PJS for short.
“That others may live”…so that others may live
The rescuers of the 210th Rescue Squadron intervene in areas that are very difficult to access. They save mountaineers stranded in high mountains and sailors lost on the high seas. They can also intervene in the bowels of the oceans, at impressive depths. They are trained to respect their motto which is “So that others may live”.
