How to choose your sports outfit?
When you practice a sport, it is important to have suitable clothing, which can follow each of your movements. Depending on the sport, the requirements are different. You must therefore choose accordingly. Between clothes and shoes, you must think carefully to avoid making mistakes. Because a pair of sneakers with cleats will not meet your needs if you want to do fitness. Just like a loose tracksuit will not be suitable for practicing yoga for example.
On the other hand, there are certain criteria to take into account regardless of the sport chosen. These are the points we will focus on today.
So, how do you choose your sports outfit in general?
There are general criteria such as comfort, material, or support. These points can be complicated to evaluate when you don’t know anything about them. However, knowing more will help you choose the right sportswear.
Your outfit should above all be comfortable
In all sports, the most important thing is to wear comfortable clothing. While practicing this sport, if you do not feel good in your clothes or shoes, you will not be able to concentrate on making the right moves. This lack of comfort will lead to bad moves and will not be good for your body. Because bad moves mean a risk of having a bodily accident and thus depriving you of your sport for a few days, weeks, or even months. So try on your complete outfit before buying.
Your outfit should support you
This section is more specifically for women. Often, the chest is a hindrance when it comes to different sports, especially those that require rapid movements. Running, cycling, acrobatic gymnastics, dancing, all these sports require good chest support. Solutions now exist, including wearing a bra. Three models are on the market: support for gentle, medium or high activity. For large breasts, double support with an integrated top and a bra will be preferred. As with comfort, being sure to be properly supported requires trying on your bra before buying it.
Your outfit must have a suitable material
Whenever we practice a sport, our body is subjected to an unusual physical effort. It then sweats, sometimes letting out some odors. We advise against cotton as soon as you practice a sport. Materials such as polyamide and polyester with a little elastane will be perfectly suitable.
Examples of outfits for certain sports
To give you an idea, we have selected for you some criteria of so-called perfect outfits depending on certain sports.
Fitness offers a wide range of clothing adapted to this sport. Leggings or shorts are the pants to choose from. Close to the body and not wide, they allow athletes to perform all the necessary movements. We also recommend wearing a close-fitting top, so as not to get your arms or hands caught in it. For shoes, buying light and flexible sneakers is preferable.
Athletes also tend to wear leggings for running or outdoor sports. They are right because they are the ideal bottom. For the top, choosing an airy model is interesting. The body will be able to breathe, perspiration will be evacuated and colds will not be part of it. For shoes, it is essential to start with running shoes. They have been designed specifically to respond to outdoor issues.
Yoga and gentle gyms prefer that practitioners wear a suit. This avoids having your t-shirt moving around. Shoes are not essential for practicing these activities.
